evaluation-conference.de - Sessions C: Perspectives - Matching systems methods to evaluation questions

Matching systems methods to evaluation questions

The session will deal with a variety of systems methods and a heuristic for identifying those that best fit a particular situation. This will be based on our recent book (Systems Concepts in Action: A Practitioner's Toolkit), which contains nineteen different systems methodologies, methods and techniques that we have assembled from a wide sweep of the systems field. And for each method we have identified core questions that can be answered through them.

Based on a handout participants will be guided to identify appropriate methods in relation to specific issues or questions. In addition they will receive brief synthesis descriptions for each of these methods. Rather than introducing them to a particular method, participants will get a hint at what these methods ‚§ďand their combinations - can do. And they will be shown what they need to know in order to decide whether to explore a method in more detail.
